Suspension & Shock Absorbers

Suspension components can influence the ride quality, giving that floating feeling, which can bring about motion sickness as well as a steering feel, impact the grip of your tyres, reduce brake performance, and the stability of the shock absorbers. Essentially, worn suspension components lead to an uncomfortable ride and potentially a very unsafe car.

An important part of keeping all aspects of your vehicle working properly is to stick to your regular Log Book servicing schedule. This allows your Vehicle Tech mechanic to keep an eye on things and spot any problems before they become serious issues.

Sometimes things can go out of whack despite regular servicing. One example of this is your suspension system and shock absorbers. Normal wear and tear can mean your suspension system no longer performs as well as it should and in some situations damage can be caused to the suspension or shock absorbers which impacts the overall performance of those systems. Hitting unexpected pot holes or regularly driving over rough roads (or even off road) can gradually or suddenly cause problems with your suspension for example.

Your vehicle's "stopping, steering and stability" all rely on your suspension system being up to the task, so it's about more than whether you have a comfortable ride or not. It comes down to the safety of your passengers too. Our authorised service technician is fully qualified to identify and repair brake, suspension, steering and shock absorber faults.
